A graduate of Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing in 1983, Madonna has shared her nursing skills in Nebraska, Colorado, and Iowa. She is currently employed with Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital as a Development Coordinator, Catastrophic Nurse Specialist for the states of Iowa and South Dakota. Her experience includes front line and management positions: direct patient care in hospital settings, crisis team work through an ER, nursing administration for both staff and chronically mentally ill adults in residential settings, and managed care on the payer side.
Madonna has been involved in CMSA for several years. She has held positions as Vice President, President, and Past President. Madonna is passionate about increasing awareness of the issues facing Case Managers in Iowa as well as increasing visibility and growing membership for the Iowa Chapter to build cohesion and provide opportunities for resources and networking for its members.
Cathy Graham RN, MSN, CCM, CMSRN
Cathy obtained her MSN in Leadership and Management from Walden University in 2012, her BSN from Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids in 2005 and Diploma of Nursing from Finley School of Nursing in Dubuque in 1979. She has been a CCM since 1999 and obtained her CMSRN in 2007. Cathy’s current position at Iowa Health System is Manager of the Care Manager, Care Navigator area. She has had 33 years of nursing experience ranging from Patient Care Facilitator at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines, adult medicine, and float nurse, assistant nurse manager at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Utilization management-catastrophic case management and case manager mentor at Principal Financial Group. Additional experience has been as a PRN status home health care nurse, adjunct clinical faculty member at Kirkwood Community College and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids and United Way of East Central Iowa Loaned Executive for the 2005 and 2006 campaigns. She has been an Iowa CMSA chapter board member for the past three years, and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Society.
De De Gorsche is the Assistant Vice –President of Medical and Network Management for the American Enterprise Group Incorporated, located in Des Moines, Iowa. De De has over 35 years of experience as a registered nurse. She worked in hospitals for 16 years and in the business of health insurance and managed care for the past 20 years
De De earned her Diploma in Nursing from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. De De is a certified case manager. De De is a founding member of the Iowa Chapter of the CMSA and has served as President as well as other board positions for the organization over the past 14 years.
Beth obtained her Associate of Nursing degree from DMACC in 1992 after working as an LPN since 1975. Beth obtained a Baclelor of Science, Health Arts from St. Francis University, Joliet, Illinois. Beth is currently employed by Wellmark BCBS of Iowa, working as an advance care nurse. Her past experience includes 2 years in intensive care, PFG for 6 years in the health information utilization area, Consultec (ACS) doing medical claims and SUR department, and over 5 years with Encompass Health Management Systems performing as a utilization management nurse and a catastrophic case manager / disease manager. Beth’s nursing career has spanned 36 years. Beth obtained her case management certification in 2006. Beth has been a member of the CMSA Iowa Chapter for four years and has served as Treasurer and a Board member.
Barb Sackett RN, BS, CCM
Barb graduated from Mount Mercy College in 1979 with a BS in nursing. She worked as a nurse in the ICU/CCU and in Home Health before moving into a job in the insurance industry with Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 1987. Barb has been a case manager for almost 20 years and a certified case manager (CCM) for 17 years. She is currently a Senior Program Coordinator with Wellmark. Barb has served the CMSA Iowa Chapter as a Board Member, Secretary, Vice President and President.

Kathy Diaz RN, BSS, CCM
Kathy holds an Associate Degree in Nursing, BSS (Bachelor of Science in Health Services) and obtained her CCM certification in 1996, a MHI certification in 1998, and a HIA certification in 1999.Kathy has been a registered nurse for 26 years and has worked in various areas including Behavior Health for over 14 years, Medical /Surgical, Pediatrics, and Hospice. Kathy has been a case manager for both Medical and Behavior Health for over 14 years, both telephonically and in the field. Kathy has been a member of CMSA, Iowa chapter in the past, and has recently returned as a member.
Tammy Miller COTA/L, BS, CBIS, CCM
Tammy is currently working as the Outpatient Office Manager at On With Life in Ankeny. Prior to that she had worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and had been practicing in the field of Occupational Therapy since completing Associate of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy at WITCC, graduating with honors, in 1997. Over years of practicing in the field of Occupational Therapy, Tammy has had the opportunity to work within a multitude of practice areas (geriatrics, pediatrics, home health, long term care, outpatient, and mental health), age ranges and disabilities. Since 2004, Tammy has been working at On with Life in Ankeny in many different roles. In 2005, Tammy received certification as a Certified Brain Injury Specialist through the Brain Injury Association of America. In 2007, she became a Certified Saeboflex Trained Therapist, a Certified Case Manager in April of 2010 and most recently finished her Bachelor of Science in Health Science in 2012.
Valerie Tuel RN, BA, CCM, CCP
Valerie A. Tuel is the Director of Care Coordination Services at ENCOMPASS Health Management Systems and has over 35 years of experience in health-related industries. Val graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing with a Diploma in Nursing in 1975, graduated from Upper Iowa University with a BA Psychology in 1998, obtained CCM certification in 2005, and obtained CCP certification in 2007. Val participates in DMAA membership and has been responsible for all Care Coordination program operations at ENCOMPASS since 1999. Her duties include directing the development, implementation and performance of all Care Coordination programs while ensuring all commercial client expectations and obligations are satisfied. Val participates as a member of the Quality Management Committee for continuous program improvement and was the Administrator for Interim Healthcare of Iowa where she directed the day-to-day operations of offices in five locations, providing medical staff relief and home care services from 1982-1999.In addition, Val was a staff nurse from 1975-1982 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Buena Vista County Hospital.
Roger Fiori RN
Roger holds an Associate Degree in Nursing and has obtained his MMA certification in 2007, and the HIA certification in 2009. Roger has been a registered nurse for 16 years and has worked in various areas; Renal Dialysis, ER, Nurse Consultant for long term pharmacy, utilization management and medical management for both Medicaid and private insurance. Roger is currently the Supervisor of Medical Management for American Enterprise Group, where he works closely with the case managers. Roger is a member of CMSA nationally and locally.
Stephanie Clarken RN, BS, CCM, CH-GCN
Stephanie Clarken is a 1987 ADN graduate of ICCC and a 2011 Graduate of Upper Iowa University with a BS in Health Care Administration. Stephanie is currently employed at Iowa Methodist Medical Center as a Care Manager and has been in Case Management for ten years. Her previous experience has mainly been in the neurosurgical field. She has many years of experience as a staff nurse on the neurosurgical unit at IMMC as well as an office nurse for the neurosurgeons for nine years. Stephanie has also worked for Aspen Medical Products as a sales person, an educator and assisted in field research for the development of the infant and pediatric cervical collars. She was received an Award of Excellence in 2003 from Aspen Medical products for her involvement in field research. Stephanie has served as past president for the local chapter of AANN as well as past secretary and treasurer. Pamela Christopher RN, BSN, CCM
Pamela graduated from Luther College, Decorah, IA, in 1980 with her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and was inducted as a charter member of Luther’s Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing chapter. Pam has worked in a variety of health care settings to include hospital based positions in Pediatric Oncology at the University of Iowa and Orthopedics at Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, IA. She worked for Principal Life Insurance Company for 22 years as a nurse claims reviewer, Senior Analyst and Mentor (supervisor) and Trainer for the Transplant case managers. Currently she is employed as a nurse care manager for Telligen Health Management Systems performing oncology and transplant case management and specialty drug reviews. She received her CCM certification in 2010 and has been a member of CMSA since 2012.
